Paolo Signorni was born in Lombardy, but lived for most of his life in Campania. He was the president of the Società Generale delle Conserve Alimentari Cirio Spa from 1916, the year of his brother Pietro's death, until his own death, on April 1, 1966.

Under his leadership, Cirio substantially expanded in size and market reach. In particular, Signorini played a key role in the success and overseas expansion of the company. In the US, the Cirio Spa was represented by Camillo Landriani, based in New York.

At the time of Signorini's death, Cirio had 16 factories in Italy and was among the most present and well-known Italian food companies in the United States.
