Julia Trissel was a respresentive of Bergdorf Goodman from America that came to Italy for Giovanni Battista Giorgini’s fashion show in 1951 in Florence at Villa Torrigiani. She had a powerful role in establishing Italian fashion in America.
Julia Trissel was an important representative and buyer of Bergdorf Goodman, the famous luxury department store chain.
In 1951 she attended on behalf of the chain in the "Italian High Fashion Show" promoted by Giovanni Battista Giorgini in Florence, in the elegant halls of Villa Torrigiani.
In the following years, she recurrently attended Italy's most important fashion shows, selecting models and clothes for overseas distribution. She thereby contributed, along with American buyers, to popularize Italian fashion in the United States.
